Laure – The extroverted non-workaholic… (Yes, opposites do attract!) I love my kids, critters, quilting, reading mysteries, gardening, bunco and especially grandkids. While I have had a variety of jobs, most recently photography, my priority has always been church and family. Funny story – part of your tour will be getting to know your buddy. My buddy, Randy, said he knew a lot about my husband and kids but not much about me! That startled me and I am now working on is improving my self - care.  Date nights, getting together with friends, going for a massage or curling up with a book and a bath tub are all ways of making my soul happy.

To introduce you to ourselves, we are Laure and Jim.   We are currently from Webster, NY, which is just outside of Rochester.  The closest famous location would be Niagara Falls, about 90 minutes away.

Empty nesters.  I’ve never liked the term but here we are. Our youngest, who is an equestrian, kept us hopping for years!   She and the other children are out of the house, most of the time.  Now we have all this time together to do….. what?  Retirement is approaching, but still a number of years away.

Who are we when we are not “Mom or Dad”? (or just recently “Gramma and Grandpa”)

Jim – an electrical engineer who would be happier tapping away at a computer or working at the pool club…yes, Jim is a lovable, introverted, terrible at names, workaholic. He relaxes by watching cooking shows and cooking up feasts for our extended family.

Though Jim had traveled to exotic places like Shanghai or Dubai and the Black Forest area of Germany, it was always work related. He only saw the sites on the way to and from 8-12 hour work days. Eating was almost always at the hotels where he stayed, which, although nice, were not really an authentic local experience.
